There are hundreds of different recipes of Garam Masala. While it is generally a mild spice blend, ancient Ayurvedic texts state that garam masalas contain only those spices that will heat the body. Our blend is a rich and aromatic mix of clove, sweet cinnamon, green cardamom pods, cardamom seed, nutmeg, black pepper and nigella. The combination of these spices makes it a perfect blend for both savory and sweet dishes. Garam Masala is wonderful as a finishing spice or marinade in fish or chicken dishes, as a rub (pan-seared scallops or ahi tuna– yum!) on fish or chicken, or to spice up a pumpkin bread. As with all of our blends, it is quite versatile and fun to experiment with. Garam Masala is one of our salt-free blends.
